Winnipeg, MB - Fresh off of an extended Spring Break, the SHOCK 15's were back at it again in preparation for the upcoming Premiere Series Event, held April 8-10th, at Red River College. An interesting week of training, with some athletes battling the flu, nursing small injuries meant that it was time for the health bodies to step up and take charge during training, and leading into the competition. In true form, the girls did exactly that, and picked up each other over the course of the week, further building the bond between teammates. This is a special group that has worked tirelessly over the course of the year to continue to strive for excellence, and they would not be stopped this week. Through pool play, SHOCK wend undefeated and sat atop Pool C. After pushing into the semi final vs Royals, the girls had a good test ahead. With attention to game plan, the girls were able to move past the Royals and off to the finals vs Dynamo for a 2nd straight week. With lots of energy in the gym, and the remaining matches completed, all eyes were on Court 1 as these groups were set to square off again. After a tight first set, SHOCK was in the drivers seat with a 1-0 lead, and momentum moving into the 2nd set. The 2nd set saw much of the same for SHOCK, with some great serving from Leia Jaworksi, and a breakout performance from Zoe Dyck on the left side. SHOCK won the final 2-0 and secured its position (2nd) in the rankings moving forward into Provincial Championships. Congrats and best of luck the rest of the way to all the competition!
